Don Bishop with some of our members
Don Bishop ARPS has been a keen photographer for 26 years. Mainly self taught his main interests are steam trains and landscapes, and he also has his own studio in Stoke st Gregory, near Taunton as well as running photographic workshops.
His passion for steam trains shows in the amazing images he captures and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. This can range from chartering the whole train to extreme measures such as repainting a train in its original colours.
His landscapes are truly beautiful and members were taken on a tour of britain, beginning with the white sand and turquoise sea of the outer Hebrides and travelling the length and breadth of the country, Scotland with its lochs glens and snow capped mountains, the rugged lake district, North Wales featuring Snowden and its lofty neighbours, on to the Isle of Wight, Dorset, Somerset and finally to lands End and the Scilly Isles.
The images captured the light and the movement of water, many taken at dawn or after the sun has set.
Mac Bouchere thanked Mr Bishop for an inspiring and enjoyable evening
