This evening members of Dawlish and Teignmouth camera club were entertained by Alan Davey with his illustrated talk on superbikes and speedboats.
Beginning with the bikes Alan shared his passion with the sport, travelling to Thruxton, Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park and Snetterton in his quest to capture stunning images of the bikes and riders in challenging conditions, from the workshops to the racetrack, neck and neck racing at 180 mph and some spectacular crashes.
Then it was on to the seaside at Bournemouth and Newquay for a very different sport involving thundercats, zap cats and jet skis, vying for position in all weather and sea conditions, often taking to the air as they race for position.
Alan showed great skill in his ability to capture amazing action shots and was thanked for a thoroughly enjoyable evening by Dave Hutton(competition secretary)

The previous week Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club played hosts to the annual "Battle" between themselves, and clubs from Exmouth, Crediton and Newton Abbot.  Members of all four clubs attended a packed village hall at Holcombe, and enjoyed home-made refreshments during the interval.
