A Game of Two Halves

Roger and Denise
On Wednesday evening it was the turn of two regular members of Dawlish and Teignmouth camera club to entertain fellow members.
Roger Smart gave a travelogue of some beautiful locations visited whilst on cruises with his wife. The first , a cruise around America took the audience to New England, Novia Scotia, Boston, New Brunswick, all with their own distinctive styles of architecture, followed by images of New York, ground zero, the Manhattan skyline and some stunning pictures taken at night.
Roger then had members yearning for the sun, traveling parts of the Mediterranean , Barcelona, Rome, Gerona, Monte Carlo with pictures of motorcycles, and Gibraltar with its barbary apes and spectacular caves.
Denise Searle followed with her talk titled "moorstone " , giving the history of Dartmoor, how the granite formed and has been used by man as a building material for thousands of years.She showed images of bronze age remains, hut circles, stone rows and standing stones, tin workings, crosses and numerous antiquities all made from the granite.
The evening was well attended by a very appreciative audience.
