Dawlish and Teignmouth camera club held thier first club competition on wednesday evening.An open competition meant that any subject , black and white or colour could be entered.
The judge for the night was Gordon Aspland, a member of Newton Abbot camera club, who began talking about what he looked for in a picture and how he picked the winning shots.
There was a large and varied entry, landscapes, portraits, abstract, animals, giving Mr Aspland quite a challenge, but he gave a fair and thorough appraisal of each image, giving the odd piece of advice where he thought necessary.
The winners were;
Standard mono; 1 Nigel West, 2 Lesley Cooper, 3 Denise Searle, highly commended Byron Carnell
Standard colour; 1 Tejas Earp, 2 Denise Searle, 3 Nigel West, highly commended, Bob Normand and Lesley Cooper
Advanced mono; 1 John Lynn, 2 Steve Capewell, 3 Bob Clowes
Advanced colour; 1 Tony Wilson, 2 Ken Holland, 3 John Lynn, highly commended Bob clowes
Nigel West thanked the judge for his work in making it a very enjoyable evening
