In the Footsteps of Shackleton - Eddy Lane

Eddy with some of his images
An illustrated talk by Eddy Lane, ARPS, president of the western counties photographic federation.
Eddy and his wife Pam embarked on their own expedition, following Ernest Shackletons footsteps of 1914-1917, travelling from south America to the Faulkland islands, then on to South Georgia and Antarctica.
Members were given a detailed history lesson, before seeing for themselves the wonderful scenery and wildlife of the area. Stunning images of albatross, penguins seals, reindeer and dolphin were followed by beautiful pictures of icebergs with their fascinating shapes and colours and vast mountain landscapes, glaciers and seascapes.
Colin Carter thanked Mr Lane for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
A mention must also go to two members, Ken Holland and Denise Searle who are justifiably proud of their achievement, each swimming 100 lengths od Dawlish pool and jointly raising over £1,000 for sport relief
